After reading Mark Joyner’s 'How to End the Israeli/Palestinian Conflict' blog post I decided to create a global petition to rally support for his plan. Mark's plan decidedly avoids pointing fingers at anyone - it only asks for 3rd party intervention to provide security for all of the innocent civilians in Gaza, the West Bank, and the surrounding Israeli towns - the vast majority of whom simply want to be left alone to live in peace. Please, sign our petition now!

I absolutely agree that Israel has not only a right but a responsibility to protect its people against terrorism. My question is whether, in the long term, such extreme tactics will achieve that security.

I'm not trying to answer the question, just asking it.

There is nothing about proportion in this matter. The right of Israel to exist as a state is being denied it by the majority of Arabs. It is not too much for Israel to keep responding the way it does to terrorist activities.

This is absolutely bizarre. Adidas and Burberry as the new frankincense and myrrh? At the risk of sounding old, what is the world coming to?

I agree Nick, and I don't understand why the story received so little coverage.
Perhaps newspapers have already fulfilled their quota of Africa stories with the Zimbabwe situation? After all, newspaper content can sometimes be more about 'balance' for the reader, instead of a true reflection of what is important in the world...
